October 6, 2017 - Defendants deposit $1.2M (within 15 days of Order)
October 20, 2017 - Mail Notice to Claimants; Website up with Claim Form, Notice & FAQ, and any other pertinent information with respect to deadlines
October 21, 2017 - Deadline for publishing in newspaper and Mailing of Notice
October 21 & 22, 2017 - Publication of Notice in the Courier Journal
November 3, 2017 - Plaintiffs file declaration of compliance with plan of notice including statement of number of persons to whom postcard notice mailed
December 17, 2017 - Deadline to Opt-Out of the Settlement
This is your deadline to refuse to be a member of the Class. Your Opt-Out Request must be completed, signed and postmarked to the GE Fire Settlement Administrator at 501 Riverchase Parkway East, Suite 100, Birmingham, AL 35244 by this date. See the Notice and Claim Form section for an Opt-Out form.
December 17, 2017 - Deadline to Object to the Settlement
This is your deadline to object to the Settlement if you do not like any part of it. See the Notice and FAQ located in the Notice and Claim Form section for the information to include in your letter.
December 22, 2017 - Deadline to Provide Notice of Intent to Appear at the Fairness Hearing
January 16, 2018 - Deadline to Submit Your Claim Form - GE FIRE CLASS ACTION SETTLEMENT CLAIM FORM DEADLINE HAS BEEN EXTENDED TO FEBRUARY 26, 2018
March 28, 2018, 1:15 p.m. ET - Fairness Hearing at Jefferson County Judicial Center, 700 West Jefferson Street, Courtroom 12, Louisville, KY 40202.
May 11, 2018 - All Claims Reviewed [Last Date Will Allow a Late Claim]
May 11, 2018 - Will need Prior Payment Database from Defendants for any payments made in order to determine amount of reimbursement for Out of Pocket Expense
May 18, 2018 - Only and Final Deficiency Letters Mailed allowing the claimants 21 days to complete or the claim will be denied
June 8, 2018 - Deficiency Letter responses due (postmarked) by this day
July 23, 2018 - Completion of processing of all Deficiency responses and Report to Parties detailing Valid Claims to be Paid with Final Amounts, and Providing List of Denied Claims and giving Parties 30 days to object prior to filing final Report to Court
August 23, 2018 - Deadline for Plaintiff’s Counsel to Object to Award Amounts or to Non-Claimant List
September 3, 2018 - Settlement Administrator Provides Revised Draft Report to Court to the Parties for Final Review with Final Settlement Payouts after Resolution of any Objections Raised by Parties (or with Proposed Resolution to Objections to Be Approved by the Court)
September 14, 2018 - Settlement Administrator files his Report to the Court asking for Resolution of Final Objections (if any) and Approving Final Payout to Valid Claims and Denial of not Valid Claims
October 15, 2018 - Following the Court’s Order approving payments to Claimants, payments will be made to Valid Claim Claimants and Notice of Claim Denial will be Mailed to non Valid Claim Claimants
